Paid, Summer Internship – Acquisitions
Location: San Diego, Charlotte, Boston or New York City

Position: Full-time

Red Stone Equity Partners, a high-quality real estate financial services company, is a fast growing firm specializing in low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) equity investments. Red Stone-managed investment funds acquire interests in affordable multifamily housing residential communities throughout the United States.
Red Stone is searching for talented, ambitious, and self-driven candidates to work with our Acquisitions Department during a Summer Internship Program. Successful candidates will be motivated and excited to learn about our industry. We are now seeking to recruit and develop exceptional talent to be the future of our company and provide them with the tools to be successful. Our goal is for you to leverage the knowledge gained from your coursework, apply it to your projects, and present your recommendations.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Assist in completing financial projections and evaluating potential investment opportunities
- Assist with underwriting multifamily developments financed with LIHTC
- Assist in preparing investment submissions for consideration by senior investment professionals
- Assist with project closings with attorneys, accountants, developers, and third-party consultants
- Assist with data management in Salesforce and team pipeline meetings
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments with special projects as needed
- Deliver a final presentation of a live deal assessing risks, mitigants, and recommendations to the Acquisitions Department
Training and support:
Orientation to Red Stone, the tax credit syndication business while being exposed to multiple lines of business over the course of your internship. Development of initial work plan and timeline with supervisor related to above tasks. Weekly meetings to review, plan, and provide coaching around various aspects of the internship experience. Take part in team meetings when relevant to the scope of the position. Participate in an intern program feedback process.
What we’re looking for:
- Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in urban planning, public policy, finance, business, real estate, or economics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Strong writing and content development skills
- Strong attention to detail and managing/prioritizing multiple projects
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work virtually and independently and meet deadlines
- Students who are interested in a career in multifamily real estate finance
Internship details:
- Beginning May/June – August 2025
- 35+ hours/week
- Paid Internship
- Working on a hybrid basis at home and in the San Diego, Charlotte, Boston or New York office
- Paid $23.00 per hour

Temporary Position – Technical Associate | Portfolio Management, Technical
Location: Stillwater, MN
Working: Hybrid
Position: Temporary, Part-time (25 – 30 hours per week) from November 2024 through April 2025
If you have strong organizational skills, understand financial statements, are confident in Microsoft Excel, thrive on tracking details and looking to make a difference in the affordable housing industry, then this could be the opportunity for you!
This temporary position, due to the nature of reviewing our data processing records, requires morning working hours. Ideal working hours include Monday – Saturday from 7am – 12pm CST, which can be modified slightly.

Red Stone is searching for talented, ambitious, and self-driven candidates to work with our Portfolio Management Department during our audit season. Reporting to the VP | Portfolio Management, the Associate will primarily focus on assisting with the review of audits, tax returns and other related finance documents related to the Company’s tax credit investments and Red Stone investment Funds. Successful candidates will be motivated and excited to learn about our industry. We are now seeking to recruit and develop exceptional talent to be the future of our company and provide them with the tools to be successful.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Review Google doc trackers from our off-shore data processing firm for exceptions;
- Manage and organize RSEP’s reporting email account;
- Review uploaded trial balances and budgets for new account mappings;
- Input occupancy information for properties in lease-up;
- Complete database setup of newly closed properties;
- Become proficient in the Company’s portfolio management database, and responsible for Site Administration-related fields and data management (ensure data integrity); and
- Assist with special projects as needed.
This position will report directly to the Senior Director – Portfolio Management | Technical Strategy.
Training and support:
Orientation to Red Stone, the tax credit syndication business while being exposed to multiple lines of business over the course of this temporary position. Development of initial work plan and timeline with supervisor related to above tasks. Weekly meetings to review, plan, and provide coaching around various aspects of the technical experience. Take part in team meetings when relevant to the scope of the position.
What we’re looking for:
- 4 – 6 years of business experience;
- Strong attention and passion for details and organization;
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
- Very high level of concentration and patience, due to the volume of financial data received;
- Understanding the flow of an income statement to include revenue and expenses;
- Knowledge of a balance sheet to include account categories (assets, liabilities and equity);
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Salary Range: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour
